    Gather friends and family to celebrate this joyous season at some holiday events around Arizona for kids and families.

    Winter Wonderland on the Farm
    Through January 15
    8 a.m.-4 p.m.

    Winter Wonderland – A fun filled December on the Farm Christmas trees, ice skating – $12, snow sledding – $10, holiday train ride – $5, bonfires, hayrides to feed Santa’s deer – $5, Unlimited Snow Day pass – $20, Breakfast with Santa on December 17 – $25 and includes hayride to feed deer, train ride and cookie decorating, fresh Christmas trees arrive weekly from Sturms Farm in Oregon.

    Christmas Movies at the Quarter
    December 9, 16 & 23
    7 p.m.-8:30 p.m.

    Families are invited to join Scottsdale Quarter in celebrating the season with the return of the center’s much anticipated Christmas Movies at the Quarter. The free weekly movie series kicks off on December 2 and continues for the first four Fridays in December. Families are encouraged to lay out blankets, grab a snack from one of the center’s delicious eateries and settle in for a different holiday classic on the big screen, 7 p.m.-8:30 p.m.

    Carefree Christmas Festival
    December 9, 10 & 11

    Three days and two nights of FREE holiday festivities and live entertainment for the entire family.
    Electric Light Parade and Fireworks on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 9 a.m. Holiday food and gift market, pet parade and pet pictures with Santa, 40 tons of real snow, and holiday music and dance. 10 a.m.-9 p.m. (Fri & Sat); 10 a.m.-5 p.m. (Sun).

    Snow Week at the Arizona Science Center
    December 26 – January 1

    Over 60 tons of snow will blanket Heritage and Science Park’s grassy hill in white. The Center will have daily demos including special ‘explosive’ demonstrations and kid-friendly activities throughout the week. Explore how science fiction icons have inspired discoveries in science and technology in, Alien Worlds and Androids. See life size replicas of Iron Man, C-3PO and R2D2 from Star Wars movies, and a replica T-800 bust from The Terminator in this popular traveling exhibition, see website for admission prices.

    Through January 8
    5:30 p.m.-10:30 p.m.

    Zoolights shines with millions of lights, a three-story lighted tree, hundreds of glimmering light displays, lakeside Music-in-Motion shows and more! Polar Slide, Stingray Bay, Carousel and Camel Rides, Photos with Santa Claus, Snowfall Nightly at 7 p.m., Festive Foods & Drinks, and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer 4-D Experience.‎

    Festive Flicks
    December 9 & 16
    6 p.m.-9 p.m.

    Celebrate the season with the inaugural Festive Flicks at Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North, featuring holiday movies and festive food and beverage under a blanket of Sonoran stars. Fountain Terrace at Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale will be transformed into a festive movie theater and holiday carnival with a game lawn, featuring bocce ball, ladder ball and other sporting games. Sparkling lights will adorn the lawn, and guests will enjoy strolling through an array of food and beverage stations. Options include “make your own” funnel cakes, salted and cinnamon-sugar dusted pretzel knots, giant s’mores cupcakes, freshly popped popcorn, classic movie candies, and other delicious treats and drinks. The holiday movie showings include: Dec 9: Home Alone, and Dec 16: Elf.‎

    Skate Westgate
    Through January 8

    Kids and adults can partake in the timeless holiday tradition of outdoor ice skating. Plus, all season long, Westgate has FREE horse-drawn carriage rides (just like in NYC’s Central Park), FREE nightly snowfall (7 p.m. & 8 p.m.) and FREE visits with Santa that includes downloadable photos.
